People are Eternal

“I swore never to be silent wherever and whenever human beings endure suffering and humiliation. We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” (Elie Wiesel)

This is one of many statements in the following article that spoke to my heart.  The title of this post is an excerpt from another.  That full statement says,

“We can also learn that institutions are only good when they serve and protect their constituents. Institutions and organizations are not eternal; people are. When we protect a school, church or organization that devours people, we are injuring and betraying our own flesh and blood.”
